On Saturday, October 19, thousands of people around the world will join a sensitization and awareness movement in the fight against human trafficking, the new modern slavery and whose 98% people are women.
The City of Murcia, from the Department of Social Rights, joins this awareness action called 'Walking for Freedom', organized by the International Association A-21, and encourages Murcia to participate in the march.
Councilwoman Pilar Torres explained that "this activity is proposed in the II Plan for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men of the City of Murcia, and responds to the objective of raising awareness and informing citizens about violence against women and trafficking people for the purpose of sexual exploitation. "
The activity consists of a silent walk that takes place annually with the objective of raising awareness about the injustice of human trafficking and continuing to rescue, restore and rebuild lives.
This tour starts at 5:30 p.m. from the Circular Plaza, advancing on the public road along Avda. Constitución towards Gran Vía, until you reach the Glorieta de España, Plaza Cardenal Belluga, Salzillo Street, Trapería, Arco de Santo Domingo Street , culminating in Julián Romea Square at 7:00 p.m.
