Tram of Murcia, under the Department of Sustainable Mobility and Youth, directed by Rebeca Pérez, has improved the service of working hours to university students who use the service.
Thus, between 8.20 and 8.50 hours the number of tram passes increases from eight to ten in the university direction section.
In this way, the frequency of the tram passing through the Circular Square improves from 9 to 7.5 minutes, thus responding to the demand of passengers.
Thanks to this modification, an average of 2,000 people arrive at universities in an hour.
This readjustment is motivated because in the first 5 working days homogeneous compared between October 2018 and 2019, there was a 5.1% increase in travelers, which meant that the service capacity did not admit all users waiting at the stop.
In this first day, the day of maximum influx was Wednesday, October 2 (27,272 validations), compared to Wednesday 3 last year (27,202 validations).
As a whole in the 5 working days compared, the demand in 2018 reached 124,026 validations, while in 2019 it has reached 130,348 validations
