We can -Equo describes as scandal the expenses in protocol and representation of the government team (10/10/2019)

After the latest information extracted from the transparency portal and made public on social networks, the councilors of Podemos-Equo have been able to verify how certain expenses exceed the ethically understandable.

"We cannot understand how delegated councilors, who exceed annual salaries of 60,000 euros gross, pass bills of, for example, 25 euros in the Burger King."

Therefore, from the municipal group they are studying possible actions, both legal and political, to investigate these issues and control the superfluous expenses of the government team.

For several days social networks have as protagonists different extracts of "superfluous" expenses to which the City of Murcia has been giving priority in recent years.

After the publications of a tweeter, providing screenshots of the transparency portal, under the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Function, we can begin an investigation and exhaustive study of the accredited expenses of the government team in the last months.

"We have come across surprises such as diets of councilors, excessive expenses in protocol or suspicious subsidies to the media with hardly any audience. Therefore we can only show our concern about what is being done with the money of Murcia and what kind of We have managers at the Roundabout who can star in such wastefulness, "said the spokesman for the group, Ginés Ruiz Maciá.

In this sense, we must remember that the councilors are not entitled to allowances, but to pass invoices accredited as representation expenses or protocol.

"That is why we do not understand an invoice in the name of José Guillén at the Casino valued at 45 euros or another of 25 euros at the Burger King. What kind of meeting does this councilor hold in a fast food place?"

Therefore, from the municipal group Podemos-Equo wonder if "there will be some councilors camouflaging diets in false representation expenses."

Another chapter, "from our point of view also ethically reprehensible," is the expenditure on flowers, which goes from 150,000 euros only in the first half of 2019. Or the expenditure on projects "that are great in the photos and in the videos but then they stay in nothing, like the creation of a tourism chatbot, Rosi, which cost 17,666 euros, and which proved totally useless. "

Or the distribution of minor contracts between trusted people "who repeats again and again on the invoices, suspecting that there is some favorable treatment towards some companies in the municipality."

This, in the opinion of the councilors of Podemos-Equo, is "morally questionable", because then "we find arguments of lack of budget to undertake issues such as the installation of shadows in schools, the removal of asbestos roofs, or the rehabilitation of infrastructure in neighborhoods and districts. In this we know that everything is a matter of priorities and since the Popular Party, with the complicity of Citizens, are determined to remind us what theirs are and the well-being of citizens is not among them. "

Therefore, the councilors of Podemos-Equo, Ginés Ruiz Maciá and Clara Martínez Baeza, are studying the possibility of taking actions, both legal and political, to be able to know in detail what the government team spends the money of all Murcia and to monitor the expenses of the mayor and councilors delegates.
