The University Social Center of the University of Murcia was this Tuesday the scene of the Day of Healthy Universities.
Among the activities carried out, the UMU has participated in a day of blood donation organized by the Spanish Network of Healthy Universities (REUS), whose challenge was to contribute to 5,000 blood donations being reached in one morning's university centers across the country .
The staff of the Regional Hemodonation Center has been working since the early hours and has attended the UMU 272 people willing to donate their blood, of which more than 100 are young people who have been encouraged to do so for the first time.
Of the total donors served, 207 correct donations have resulted.
Those who have participated in this solidarity exercise have won as a prize the pieces of fruit that the participating organizations and companies have contributed to collaborate with the second challenge of the day: promoting healthy lifestyle habits among the youngest.
