On October 4 and 5, the initial meeting of the network will be held at the facilities of the UMU Biosanitary Research Laboratory (LAIB)
The University of Murcia will coordinate the 'BrainActivity' network of Neurobiology of the exercise, which was established at the end of August after the favorable resolution of the call for grants for the creation of 'Research Networks in Sports Sciences' of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, through the Higher Sports Council.
The project was the fifth best rated with a 9.25 out of 10, and has the participation of research groups from the Faculties of Biology, Sports Sciences and Medicine of the University of Murcia, members of the Murcian Institute of Biosanitary Research Virgen de la Arrixaca (IMIB) as well as other groups of universities in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Jaume I of Castellón, Valencia, Castilla-La Mancha and Polytechnic of Cartagena.
With the coordination of José Luis Ferrán, professor of Human Anatomy and Embryology at the University of Murcia, the 'BrainActivity' network arises with the aim of expanding knowledge about the basis of brain functioning in the practice of physical exercise and its consequences for the Health.
The joint participation of research groups from different areas of knowledge will allow closer links and answers of greater quality and depth to questions about Neurobiology of the exercise that are unknown today.
In addition, they intend to develop new tools and working methodologies with practical applications.
On October 4 and 5, the initial meeting of the network will be held at the facilities of the Biosanitary Research Laboratory (LAIB) of the University of Murcia, in which the different groups will define the objectives, challenges and action plans to which They will face to respond to the main social and health needs today.
