Tourists grew 8.9 percent during the months of July and August 2019 in Murcia.
According to data extracted from the National Statistics Institute (INE), the city received a total of 74,120 travelers during that period of which 22,406 arrived from abroad overcoming the 2018 barrier when 19,398 foreign tourists visited Murcia.
Hotel occupancy during the two summer months reached 123,241 overnight stays and maintained the positive trend of recent years with a percentage growth of 4.56 percent compared to 2018.
For its part, the profitability of the hotel sector has remained at the same levels of 2018 with an average turnover per room (ADR) of 63.94 euros in July 2019 compared to 63.50 in the previous period.
The city of Murcia has 23 establishments with 2,248 rooms available and a total capacity of 4,496 seats in four, three and two star hotels.
