The University of Murcia will publish on Monday the call for own scholarships (27/09/2019)

The Governing Council has interrupted its session at noon to join the World Climate Strike

The call for scholarships from the University of Murcia for the 2019-2020 academic year will be published in the TOUM, the bulletin board of the University, next Monday.

These are 30 scholarships of 1,000 euros for students who have finished a degree at UMU and want to pursue a master's degree at our university.

These scholarships, which will be incompatible with those convened by the Ministry, may be requested within one month of their publication on Monday and will be resolved after those of the Ministry.

The minimum grade requested will be a 6 (has been lowered from the previous year from a 7 to a 6).

On the other hand, during the Governing Council the Vice Chancellor for Infrastructure Planning has reported the damage caused by the recent DANA that has plagued the Region.

The damage relationship has been sent to the Ministry of Development for inclusion in the inventory of the entire Community.

The Rector, José Luján, congratulated the students for the initiative of the Student Council to collaborate as volunteers to help the victims of Los Alcázares and Molina de Segura.

Similarly, the results of the Projects have been reported in the framework of the Erasmus program.

In the last call of 2019, 12 projects have been approved in which the University of Murcia participates.

In 8 of them the UMU will act as coordinator, with a total funding granted of 4,435,803 euros.

In addition, the Governing Council has approved that the University of Murcia join the World Climate Strike.

In this way, he has made the symbolic break of 4 minutes, which has been added by personnel working in the Convalescence, headquarters of the Rectorate.

The Governing Council has also shown its commitment to reduce polluting emissions and its intention to continue organizing sustainable activities at the University of Murcia.

In fact, today an expenditure of 150,000 euros has been approved to change the current luminaires for more eco-efficient ones.

In terms of research, the vice-rector of the branch wanted to highlight the results related to the UMU of some calls that have been recently resolved.

These are 29 FPU grants from the Ministry, which is a quite remarkable result.

In other calls the following results have been obtained:

- Juan de la Cierva Call: 5 applications selected

- Call for Research Networks: of the 7 applications submitted, 5 have been approved.

In addition, the Vice Chancellor for Research has announced that the provisional resolution of the call for predoctoral contracts is imminent.

In the section on requests and questions, the need to undertake more structural measures by the UMU in the fight against climate change has been discussed and the total prohibition of "hazing" on the campus of the campus has been recalled. something vexatious for students.
