Harvard University appoints a professor in Business History to a professor at the University of Murcia (26/09/2019)

The most prestigious business school in the world, Harvard Business School, appoints a Spanish researcher for the first time in this discipline.

This is the professor of the University of Murcia (UMU) Susana Martínez-Rodríguez, of the Faculty of Economics and Business, who during the next months will occupy the position of 'Thomas K. McCraw Fellow in US Business History' at the American University .

This concession is the result of a project presented by the UMU researcher where the development of public limited companies during the Franco era is analyzed, paying special attention to the role of the institutions.

One of its objectives is to analyze how American corporations that had interests in Spain assumed a non-democratic and dictatorial context with values opposed to those defended in their country of origin.

Harvard University annually announces these competitive and global scholarships to which economic history research projects are presented, with only one of them winning.

Martínez will occupy, in addition to the position of Thomas K. McCraw mentioned above, the condition of 'Fellow' of the Royal College of the Complutense at Harvard during his stay.

Thomas K McCraw was a prestigious historian specializing in the history of business and American corporations;

He was also emeritus of the Harvard business school and participated in the launch of his prestigious MBA.

The mention granted to Martínez was born with the purpose of honoring the work of this historian.
