A children's workshop and several free guided tours will present Murcia's heritage and history (24/09/2019)

These activities are carried out on the occasion of World Tourism Day that is celebrated next Friday, September 27.

To participate it is necessary to book from Tuesday to Friday on 968 221612, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Murcia joins the celebration of World Tourism Day next Friday, September 27 with the launch of two theatrical tourist visits and a free children's workshop that will allow you to know the heritage and history of the city during the weekend.

Book in advance

This is an initiative promoted by the Department of Employment, Economic Promotion and Tourism directed by the mayor Pedro García Rex, in which children and adults can participate, reserving previously, from today Tuesday until next Friday, on the phone 968 221612 , from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

"The activities are aimed at both tourists and all Murcia interested in knowing more deeply the heritage and cultural wealth of our city," said the mayor responsible.

Visit to the Visitor Center and sample instruments

The activities will begin this Friday, at 5.30 pm, with the completion of a theatrical visit by the Visitor Center La Muralla de Santa Eulalia.

From 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Visitor Center will also host a sample of medieval instruments reproduced from the Cantigas de Alfonso X belonging to a private collection.

Children's workshop and theatrical route through Murcia

On Saturday 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the children's workshop "La Muralla de la ciudad de Murcia" will take place for children between 8 and 12 years old.

It is a tour of the Visitor Center and visualization of old images of the city, through which the little ones will know the history of the Wall of Murcia and its defensive system.

Parallel to this children's activity, the theatrical guided tour of the city of Murcia will take place.

The meeting point is the Tourist Office of the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga, at 11.30 am

During the weekend various poems and printed historical texts will be made available to citizens to read at the La Muralla Visitor Center.
