Before the numerous calls and messages received from neighbors who wanted to help, the Consistory set up this volunteer device to act in the damaged homes.
El Raal, Alquerías, Torreagüera, Santo Ángel, Zeneta and Rincón de Seca are the locations where volunteers are working.
The City Council has received more than 1,300 calls from people who have volunteered to help Murcia families whose homes have been damaged by heavy rains, since last Sunday.
The Consistory launched this device to respond to the numerous calls made by neighbors who, due to the ravages caused by DANA, wanted to help in the most affected districts.
The localities to which they have moved throughout the week are El Raal, Alquerías, Torreagüera, Santo Ángel, Zeneta and Rincón de Seca, receiving priority attention the homes located in El Raal and Alquerías.
Removing the mud from the homes, as well as supporting the work of the municipal forces, are some of the tasks performed by the volunteers.
More than 300 daily calls
Every day, more than 300 people have contacted the City Council to participate in this device, in which 200 volunteers have collaborated daily in the affected areas.
This is a team coordinated by Civil Protection personnel of the City of Murcia, which has been responsible for distributing volunteers in the different affected areas.
