The City Council again requests citizen collaboration since many of the centers are in private areas
The Municipal Health Services, under the Department of Sports and Health, led by Felipe Coello, have developed an Emergency Disinsection Program with the objective of minimizing the effects of flooding and water accumulation, together with high temperatures, It will have in the proliferation of mosquitoes.
Therefore, the Veterinary and Zoonoses Service, with the support of the company that has contracted the City Council, has carried out a first analysis of the situation, establishing 3 main areas of action: El Raal, Alquerías and Zeneta;
surroundings of Segura and Reguerón and rest of the municipality
In this way, the human and material resources of the Mosquito Control Program will be redirected, incorporating resources from the Municipal Zoonoses Control Center.
These resources are 14 technicians, a hydropneumatic pick up, a thermospray pick up, 4 manual thermobuttons and 10 fumigation backpacks for the scuppers.
To these land application resources will be added next Monday, in those areas not accessible, treatment drones and, if necessary, a helicopter equipped with means for spraying will be incorporated.
On the other hand, the Complaint Attention Team is maintained for the rest of the municipality, although the population is requested to understand the situation if these complaints are not addressed within the first 24 hours, as usual.
Finally, it should be remembered that Aedes albopictus (tiger mosquito) is able to reproduce on small surfaces of water (water holes, buckets, pot dishes, etc.), as well as in untreated or abandoned pools.
In this way, the fallen rains have generated, in the case of Murcia and districts and in the garden, thousands of small accumulations of water, so the help of the population is requested in the elimination of all these foci in private environments
