150 UCAM volunteers will help tomorrow in areas of the Mar Menor most affected by the floods (20/09/2019)

The students of the Catholic University, natives of both the Region of Murcia, and other autonomous communities of Spain will collaborate in the cleaning tasks of the Bahía Bella urbanization, on the border of the Cartagena municipality with Los Alcázares, one of the areas affected by the DANA that took place last week in the Region of Murcia.

This initiative will also involve students from other countries such as Italy, France, China, Jordan and Algeria who have just joined the different degrees that have started classes this week.

The Catholic University San Antonio has organized for tomorrow, Saturday 21, a day of cleaning of one of the areas of the coast of the Mar Menor most affected by the heavy rains of the DANA storm, the Bahía Bella urbanization, belonging to the municipality of Cartagena in its border with Los Alcázares, whose streets and houses were flooded with mud due to the proximity of Rambla de El Albujón.

Students from the Region, but also from other autonomous communities such as Andalusia, Valencian Community and Castilla La Mancha, as well as international students from countries such as France, Italy, China, Jordan and Algeria will participate in this initiative.

During this day there has also been a campaign to collect cleaning materials and non-perishable food to help the affected population in collaboration with the City of Cartagena.

These actions add to that of the UCAM Murcia soccer team that will donate the ticket office to Recreativo de Granada to help those affected by the floods in Los Alcázares, for which it has also opened the account number ES06 2038 3100 6160 0041 6189 and will have piggy banks in the offices of La Condomina.
