The City Council and the SEF invest more than € 955,000 in opening new job opportunities for 40 unemployed people under 25 years old (20/09/2019)

A total of 40 unemployed people under 25 will receive training and qualification in professional certificates of masonry, installation of laminated plasterboard and false ceilings, assembly and maintenance of low voltage electrical installations, plumbing and heating-domestic air conditioning and carpentry work and furniture.

The Governing Board today approved the grant application to the SEF for the implementation of the mixed Employment and Training program for young people, whose basic objective is the completion of the works of the II phase of the FICA classrooms.

The global budget for its implementation amounts to a total of 955,928 euros, of which, the municipal coffers will contribute 400,000 euros, the rest corresponds to the SEF.

Paid practices

This initiative has a duration of one year and is divided into two phases: a first training in the specialty of three months, in which students receive a scholarship of assistance from the SEF of 9 euros a day;

and a second one of alternation of the training with the employment of 9 months, in which they are hired by the City Council under the modality of contract for the formation and the learning.

In this second period, students receive a salary corresponding to 75% of the minimum interprofessional salary.

The program also includes maintenance of electricity installations, plumbing, telecommunications, small improvements and renovation of furniture in various centers and municipal facilities.

The 40 children under 25 years of age will carry out professional practices at the facilities of the AICA FICA, a municipal building that is preparing to expand the number of classrooms of the Training Center and Employment Initiatives and to offer training and qualification to a largest number of unemployed people in the municipality.

The professional training that students obtain from these projects is based fundamentally on the combination of training and real work experience, combining both objectives perfectly.
