The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, presents the next edition of the Assault Matahombres circuit, which will be held on September 22 in the Sierra de Carrascoy in the town of Sangonera la Verde.
The Mountaineering Federation of the Region of Murcia, through the Runnerbike Mountaineering Club, celebrates the Faster Wear Cup, the mountain bike championship, with a 38-kilometer course and a 1,250-meter drop.
To the race in bicycle, this year another one is added, but on foot by mountain.
It will be the Matahombres Assault Trail, with a distance of 22 kilometers and a height of 700 meters.
"We return to bring together in our municipality people committed to sport, but especially with external sport, setting an example of courage and perseverance," said Councilman Felipe Coello.
Both races leave from the Cemetery Road, in front of Sangonera la Verde Sports Center, and run through the mountain in the southern mountain range of the Carrascoy Valley.
The bicycle competition will begin first, at 9.00 a.m., and then the foot race will take place at 9.30 a.m.
From that point, the participants will pass through the estate of the White Majal, the place called 'Matahombres' (costs at the houses of the Port of 2.7 km with a 24% drop), Asomada Castle, sweeping the Puerto de la Chain and the Eagle's Peak.
“Both the participants themselves and the attendees will enjoy a day of authentic adventure and in a unique environment, such as our Sierra de Carrascoy,” describes the Councilor for Sports.
This sporting event is organized by the Runnerbike Mountaineering Club, belonging to the Mountaineering Federation of the Region of Murcia.
