Neighbors of the district met last night in an assembly to agree on a document that the City Council will transfer to ADIF |
The residents of Alquerías demand an immediate solution for the train tracks in the Vereda de Tabala.
At a meeting held last night they have agreed on a letter that they have sent to Mayor José Ballesta so that, on behalf of the City Council, he can transfer it to the Railway Infrastructure Administrator (ADIF) through the Secretary of State for Infrastructure.
The ADIF railway infrastructure in the Vereda de Tabala became, during DANA, a dam that could have had very serious consequences.
Fortunately, the flood only caused significant material damage but revealed a warning that the neighbors have been exposing to the ADIF company: that the road is built on the riverbed of the Tabala waterfront.
After the intervention of the municipal services, the EMU and volunteers to clear the area the neighbors met last night to demand from ADIF a solution to this problem.
The Mayor undertook to send to the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, on whom ADIF depends, the requests of the neighbors to request a solution to the problem that does not adhere to the replacement of the roads.
Thus, the neighbors have prepared a document in this assembly with specific requests to ADIF and that they have delivered to the Mayor to be the speaker of their requests
The assembly has had the presence of the entire Municipal Board, the Deputy Mayor Rebeca Pérez and the socialist spokesman José Antonio Serrano along with the councilman Juan Vicente Larrosa, associations and groups of the people, neighbors in general and injured neighbors
The document requires ADIF a planning and deadlines for restoration work in the area, a proposal for a solution to the problem with a new project, a direct dialogue with the City Council and the Municipal Board and publicize the plans of the ADIF company with the new paths that affect the area.
This document, which has the full support of the Municipal Board, has been transferred to the City of Murcia to be transferred to the Secretary of State requesting an urgent meeting to address the issues outlined in the document.
