Teatro Silfo tells the story of Anne Frank in ´La casa dehind´ (18/09/2019)

The Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, presented this morning the new show of the Silfo Theater company, 'The House Behind', based on the famous book 'Diary of Anne Frank'.

The work is done in co-production with the Romea and Circus Theaters in Murcia, with the dramaturgy of César Oliva and under the direction of César Oliva Bernal.

The premiere will take place on September 26 and 27, at 9:00 p.m., at the Romea Theater in Murcia.

The company, which for 17 years is dedicated to the theater for children and youth, after its last show 'The Moon in the Garden', intended for early childhood, this time is aimed at young people and dares to address a story that since its publication has become a reference for so many generations.

"Teatro Silfo addresses a much-needed story for young and adult audiences, not only because of the knowledge of our history but also because of the values it represents," said Councilman Jesús Pacheco.

This version of César Oliva focuses on the relationships between the characters, as well as in the 'Anne Frank Diary' itself.

Thus, the work takes place in the House behind the offices of Otto Frank, where the Frank's family remains locked for two long years with the Van Pels family and Doctor Pfeiffer.

His only connection with the outside will be Miep Gies, office worker and family friend who gets them what they need to survive.

The scenes follow one another between the passing of days, daily conflicts, domestic chores and a war that seems to prolong its end.

In the midst of this situation is the awakening of Ana's puberty, her always hopeful vision and her longing for freedom.

"From the City Council we support the production of Murcian theater, giving value to the talent of our land and what better scenario to do it than in our Romea," says the mayor.

The cast consists of César Oliva Bernal (Other Frank), Eva Torres (Edith Frank), Irene García de la Calera (Ana Frank), Alba Carrillo (Margot Frank), Toni Medina (Hermann Van Pels), Sara Sáez (Augusta Van Pels ), Fran Bordonado (Peter Van Pels), Salvador Serrano (Dr. Fritz Pfeiffer) and Ana García (Miep Gies).

They also stand out as an assistant director, Fabrizio Azara, in music, Marco Valentino, in lighting design, Jesús Palazón, the scenery, Fabrizio Azara, the sound space, Ana García and Javier Almela, and the production and costumes of Sara Sáez and Ana García.
