Marco Antonio Fernández: "If it were for Francisco Lucas, El Raal would be a swamp" (16/09/2019)

"Firefighters, Local Police, Civil Protection, the UME and municipal cleaning services have been working in the area since Friday," said the councilman of Pedanías.

The councilor of Pedanías y Barrios asks the former mayor that "if he wants to do politics with the misfortune that his deputy chair will be occupied in the Regional Assembly and let the technicians do their job."

"Local police officers, Firefighters of Murcia, Civil Protection and the Military Emergency Unit (UME) have been working in El Raal since last Friday so that the district returns to normal as soon as possible," said the councilor of Pedanías y Barrios , Marco Antonio Fernández.

The councilor of Pedanías explains that, specifically, this morning a team of nine firefighters has been shrinking water with six pumping equipment in a total of seven homes.

There are displaced six agents of the Local Police and three Civil Protection, in addition to all the volunteers who wanted to go help the neighbors with the interior cleaning of their homes.

As for the EMU - says the mayor - after helping this morning in the cleaning and withdrawal of water in ditches he has moved to continue his work in Beniel.

As for the road cleaning equipment, several operators are working in the area during these days with a cleaning sweeper, a garbage collector, an octopus waste box, a medium box with an articulated arm for continuous collection of goods, a light piagio for collection of small units, a pressure washer with a lance and a pressurized water tank.

The City Council, through municipal services, continues with these tasks throughout the municipality.

Specifically, this hamlet has been one of the most affected, due to the break that occurred last Friday at the river speck, which caused the water to reach the homes leaving the town incommunicado.

"That is why from the first moment priority has been given to this town, sending all the troops and coordinating an emergency device and another humanitarian aid," said Councilman Marco Antonio.

"Thanks to the intermediation of the mayor, José Ballesta, he acted quickly in the construction of a wall to alleviate the break. That same day two emergency command posts were installed, one of them for humanitarian aid to the neighbors," explains Marco Antonio, who adds that "if it were for Francisco Lucas, El Raal would be a swamp."

The councilor of Pedanías y Barrios asks the former mayor that "if he wants to do politics with the misfortune that his deputy chair will be occupied in the Regional Assembly and let the technicians do their job."

"The City Council of Murcia has focused since last Friday its technical and human resources in this district, whose neighbors lived in an emergency situation, with streets completely flooded with more than a meter high, after the break of the speck of the river, in which has been an opening of more than 10m, "describes the councilman.

"Perhaps the former mayor has been too busy walking in the kayak instead of meeting the needs of his neighbors," he says.
