Murcia says goodbye to its Patron tomorrow (16/09/2019)

The City Council has prepared the necessary device for the Pilgrimage Day to pass normally.

From first thing in the morning, the device in charge will be established that will cut the traffic when the situation requires it and next to the esplanade of the Sanctuary, in addition, a mobile Office of Attention to the Citizen of the Local Police of Murcia will be installed.

On the occasion of the ascent of the Virgin to her Sanctuary, the following routes will be cut to traffic:

-Access to the Sanctuary from Algezares (from the Health Center), and from the intersection of the Urbanization Los Teatinos (except residents), starting this evening.

-The road that joins El Charco square, in Santo Ángel, with Algezares, from 7 am.

Conversely, from Algezares to the Pool, it will be cut at 8 hours.

In this area, traffic will be allowed again when the processional entourage is in the Calle Ascent to the Sanctuary of Fuensanta and the influx of public permits.

-In the hamlet of La Alberca, the ascent to El Valle (from the access crossing to the Lost Valley) will be cut, starting at 7.00.

-The MU-302 road, at the height of the Los Garres gas station, in this direction towards Algezares, will be cut after 8.00, except for buses, which will reach the church of Algezares.

In the Pilgrimage, in addition, the use of public transport is recommended.

Therefore, Latbus has established a special service from different districts and towns to Murcia that will be continuous until 8 hours depending on the demand of travelers.

The rest of the day will be the holiday schedule.

There will be continuous service between Murcia (Jardín de Floridablanca) and Algezares from 7:00 a.m.

After the arrival of the virgin there will also be continuous service from Algezares to Murcia (Jardín de Floridablanca), La Alberca, El Palmar, San Ginés, Era Alta, Alcantarilla, Sangonera la Verde, Los Garres, San José de la Vega, Beniaján, El Secano, El Bojar, Torreagüera, Los Ramos, Zeneta and El Mojón.

As for Road Cleaning, this special device is developed over four days.

During this day we work on cleaning the surroundings of the Fuensanta.

During the day of the Pilgrimage, the garbage collection schedule of that area will be advanced so that the containers located along the route are empty first thing in the morning.

On the 17th, at 6 o'clock, a review of the itinerary will be carried out contemplating the container points and the bins.

On the tour, 12 separate collection points and 62 portable toilets will be placed.

After Mass, in Belluga Square and in La Glorieta, specialist pawns with a scrubber and a pressure washer will clean the remains of wax.

Likewise, 3,000 wax-holder candle holders will be distributed among the pilgrims, to be placed in the candles and avoid the spillage of the wax on the pavement and possible accidents.

During the two days after the Pilgrimage, cleaning work will be carried out in the surroundings of the Fuensanta.

On the other hand and thanks to the collaboration between the Department of Sustainable Development and Huerta, the Mountaineering Federation of the Region of Murcia and the Scouts Federation of Explorers of Murcia during the day tomorrow will be the Clean Mount Day.

For this, a tent will be installed from which information will be distributed and specially made bags made from potato skin, totally biodegradable and biocompostable, will be distributed.

The Mountaineering Federation of the Region of Murcia will be responsible for coordinating environmental awareness, training and education activities on Monte Limpio Day 2019.
