The University of Murcia exhibits a sample of photographers Pascual and Vincent (09/09/2019)

The University of Murcia opens this Tuesday, September 10, the exhibition 'The Tree of Life is Eternally Green' by Pascual and Vincent, which will take place in the ES / UM space of the La Merced Campus, at 8.30 pm.

Pascual Martínez (Murcia, 1977) and Vincent Sáez (Almoradí, 1976) are two photographers based in Murcia, who combine their photographic work with specialized training, project advice and design and curating of exhibitions.

Seduced by human relationships and the study of society through photography as a means of anthropological exploration, they develop author works that reflect on identity from a perspective that positions the natural environment as the main axis of his discourse.

In 2014 the project 'The tree of life is eternally green' began in Bucharest, which "talks about nature, its wild, pure state and the relationship that human beings establish with it. It is a journey of more than 6,000 kilometers to through the Romanian nature that culminates in 2018 with the publication of a photobook of the work "explain its authors.

For Pascual and Vincent, "Romania is one of the most orientalized exponents of the preservation and revitalization of natural heritage, since both in knowledge, development and conservation of the environment are more similar to the eastern canons than to the western ones."

"Since the first inhabitants of Europe inhabited their fertile lands until today, the driving rhythm of Romanian society has been closely linked to its surroundings, like the roots of the tree that make its way into the subsoil against other plants that also seek its own space, but, just as a tree in appearance is only a trunk, branches and leaves, the superficial vision of the country does not reveal its true values, stereotypes are the result of ignorance and theories, such as the bark of the tree, only show an outer layer of reality, "they add.

The photobook of this work, published by the English publisher Overlapse, has been recognized with the 'ArtsLibris Award' of the Banco Sabadell Foundation, and the 'HP Inkspiration Award of Excellence 2018'.

In addition, he has been selected in 'Discoveries PhotoEspaña 2015', in 'Encontros da Imagem 2014' in Braga (Portugal) and in the photographic itineraries of the Pa-ta-ta Festival in Granada.

He has also been a finalist in 'Barcelona International Photography Awards (BIPA) Lens Culture 2015', in '20 Fotopres La Caixa ', and has been the winner of the' Do 'call of the PHotoEspaña-Comunidad de Madrid Forum.

The sample can be visited until October 4 from Monday to Friday, from 11 am to 2 pm and from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.
