The Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration continues to renew public lighting in districts and neighborhoods.
With the modifications made during the first half of the year, the annual energy consumption will be reduced by 176,064 kWh, which will save 24,649 euros.
Councilor José Guillén explains that "with these improvements, the commitments assumed by the City Council to curb climate change are also fulfilled, since this technology reduces the consumption and emission of carbon dioxide."
The City Council, through the Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, continues with the work of improving public lighting in different streets and districts of the municipality of Murcia.
During the first half of the year, a total of 301 LED technology luminaires were installed in the municipality of Murcia which reduced the installed power by 56,795 W.
"This action is adapted to the premises of optimization of public lighting installations and to fight against light pollution," said Councilman José Guillén.
With these actions, a reduction in energy consumption of 176,064 Kwh is achieved, obtaining savings of 24,649 euros and ceasing to emit 87.15 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere annually.
Specifically, during the first half of the year, light points with LED technology have been installed in Santa Cruz, El Palmar Murcia, Llano de Brujas, Barrio del Progreso, Patiño, Beniaján and Los Dolores.
The councilor explains that "with these improvements is also met with the commitments made by the City Council to curb climate change, because this technology reduces the consumption and emission of carbon dioxide."
