The PSOE denounces that the City Council is not being transparent (02/09/2019)

Councilwoman Ainhoa Sánchez requested information on the study that will decide the future of the municipality of Murcia but the Ballesta Government team offers no answer "and we did not find a trace of the survey on the web"

He also states that "while in this survey we talk about quality of life, in recent studies they inform us that we belong to a Region where" public services or health are thrown to the ground and in which we read that we are the second community where we most has devalued the average salary since 2017, so something does not add up "

The Municipal Socialist Group is still waiting to receive a response to the internal communication, presented on August 23, requesting information on the 'Marca Murcia' study and on the 20 social agents that, apparently, have collaborated in its creation and are representative of the municipality, as highlighted by the PP.

"Last week we denounced a lack of rigor when carrying out this study but, given the lack of answers, our suspicions are now even more serious," warns socialist councilwoman Ainhoa Sánchez.

The "Murcia Brand" report consists of an investigation carried out by the Consistory to know the values and vision that Murcia propose to project the city nationally and internationally during the coming years.

To do this, the City Council surveyed 1,200 people online and interviewed 20 leaders of Murcia, whose identity has not been revealed by the government team.

During the presentation of the conclusions, we talked about the quality of life, which contrasts with the results of other studies of these days that "throw down public services or health and in which we read that we are third community where it rises the most the price of the house used in August or the second where the average salary has been devalued the most since 2017, therefore, something does not add up to us, ”says the councilor, who insists on having the 'Marca Murcia' report" as soon as possible ".

In addition, "it is supposed to be a survey and strategic interviews, which will decide how to manage our municipality. It should have been the government team itself that would have made us share in this information and even had our collaboration. However, since this has not been the case, at least they should respond to our requests. Today the only response we have received has been silence, "he says.

"In addition, it is striking not only that the government team does not answer us, but that on the website where the survey was conducted there is no trace of it, that there is no technical sheet of the survey, that none of the associations or Murcia entities of relevance that we believe could have participated have knowledge of this survey, that we do not find neighbors who have answered the online survey ... ", asks the Socialist mayor.

"We would not like to think that the Ballesta government team has invented a survey to presume a false citizen participation. If this were so, we would be facing a very serious incident," Sanchez warns.

"The Government team of the City of Murcia has a Department of Transparency and Good Government that is not proving very effective," denounces the Socialist councilor.

"It is of little use to create new councilors if the practices remain the same, or worse, than those of previous legislatures. Almost 90% of the internal communications we have sent so far are unanswered. For the Socialist Municipal Group this is not very transparent, perhaps what happens is that PP and Citizens have a concept of transparency different from ours, "concludes the socialist mayor.
