The first plenary session of the 2019-2023 mandate of the Murcia City Council will be held on July 1 (26/06/2019)

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, presided this afternoon the first meeting of the Board of Spokesmen, which approved that the celebration of the Extraordinary Plenary Assembly of the City of Murcia, the first of the 2019-2023 mandate, will take place next Monday July 1.

José Ballesta highlighted "the climate of dialogue, the will of agreement and good will" of the five spokespersons of the municipal groups of the Popular Party, Ciudadanos, PSOE, Vox and Podemos, represented by Rebeca Pérez, Mario Gómez, José Antonio Serrano, María Inmaculada Ortega and Ginés Ruiz, respectively.

The Board of Spokespersons has also set the overall number of dedications of the councilors of the Corporation.

As in the previous mandates, a total of 20 will be dedicated exclusively, as established by the Law of Bases of Local Regime, while the rest will have partial dedication or assistance to plenums and commissions.

Specifically, in the constituent plenary session, two motions will be debated regarding the regime for holding plenary sessions, which will be held, as it has been until now, on the last Thursday of each month, if the Plenary so decides;

and the creation and denomination of its commissions, both ordinary and special.

Those of ordinary and obligatory regime will be the following: Urbanism, Sustainable Development and Environment;

Infrastructure, Finance and Economic Management;

Employment, Social Rights, Education and Culture.

The specials will be the following: Accounts;

Suggestions and Claims;

Surveillance in the Contracting;

Strategy of Social Recovery, Integration and Citizen Participation;

Hiring of Ramón Gaya;

and that of Contracting in the Concessionaires.

The representation of the municipal groups in the Boards of Directors of the participating companies has also been approved in the Board of Spokespersons.

Prior to holding this Board of Spokespersons, Mayor José Ballesta has held several meetings with all the spokespersons of the municipal groups, to agree on a proposal to start and enrich it with the different opinions and proposals, with the will to reach a joint agreement .
