The Smart City project, MiMurcia and its brain CEUS are presented at the V Congress of Smart Cities (26/06/2019)

The Deputy Mayor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, accompanied by the Director of Modernization, José Martínez Márquez, and the General Director of Information Technology of the Autonomous Community, Juan José Almela, attends this congress, one of the most of Smart City at a national level.

In this context, he presented the strategic project Smart City Smart Murcia and held meetings with the CEO of Red.es, David Cierco, and the Director of Operations of Iberdrola, to address the implementation of various applied technological innovation projects to the city.

The most important technological innovation projects that are being developed in Murcia - Smart City, MiMurcia and CEUS - will be the focus of attention at the V Congress of Smart Cities that is being held today in Madrid, with the assistance of the Deputy Mayor of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration.

It is a forum for the exchange of knowledge and experiences about smart cities and territories, showing the most interesting initiatives that are currently being developed in our country.

This event, consolidated as the main forum for professional reference on the subject in Spain, is organized by the Group the State Secretariat for Digital Advance, with the institutional collaboration of the State Public Entity RED.es of the Ministry of Economy and Business and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.

One of the papers that will be published by the congress has been presented by the City of Murcia, with the title "CEUS: unique center for monitoring the smart city Smart Murcia strategy."

The Single Monitoring Center (CEUS), located on the ground floor of the Abenarabi building, will be the city's integrated operations and control center.

It will have an informative space, a crisis room and a control panel connected to the Smart City platform and will unify the management of the services and the current control and surveillance systems, allowing an intelligent management of the city, applying the smart model to the public sphere and getting to put technological advances at the service of people, improving their quality of life and the service they receive.

Permanent information in real time

CEUS will allow to evaluate, decide and execute urgent measures in emergency situations, with all the available information, while it will be an open technology demonstration space.

It will have 42 wall or videowall screens that will show in real time the information of more than 300 new intelligent systems and thousands of sensors: Wi-Fi connectivity in squares, parks and gardens, panels that inform about free parking spaces, pedestrian crossings smart, environmental monitoring stations to measure air quality, etc.

Unify all the cameras in the control and surveillance systems.

In the environment of the Congress of Smart Cities, the Councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of Administration, José Guillén, plans to hold two meetings related to two other relevant actions related to Smart Murcia.

Technical meetings

Specifically, he has interviewed David Cierco, general director of the State Public Entity RED.es, along with Francisco Javier García, director of Digital Public Services and Elena González, deputy director of Smart Cities.

The purpose of the meeting was to review the execution of the MiMurcia project, your Smart, Close, Open and Innovative City Council, awarded to the UTE formed by Telefónica and Informática El Corte Inglés.

Likewise, it will also hold a meeting with Iberdrola Distribución, with Trinidad Moya, responsible for the Planning of the Global Network Business Network, and with José Luis Picard López, Chief of Operation and Network Planning of the Eastern Region of Iberdrola Distribución Eléctrica, to do monitoring of the execution of the collaboration agreement between the City of Murcia and Iberdrola Distribución Eléctrica SAU for the development and implementation of the smart city model in the city of Murcia.

On the other hand, Guillén participates this afternoon in the workshops on 'Smart Green: intelligent urban irrigation through IoT and artificial intelligence' and about Urban Development and Technological Innovation.
