The UMU and the College of Property Registrars sign an agreement to create the Chair of Registration Law (26/06/2019)

The University of Murcia, through the Faculty of Law, and the College of Property, Mercantile and Movable Property Registrars of Spain have signed a collaboration agreement on Wednesday for the creation of the 'Extraordinary Chair of Registration Law Rafael Rivas Torralba ', in an act that took place in the rector's office.

The purpose of this chair will be the promotion of teaching and interdisciplinary research activities related to the Registry Law that will study the reality, problems and perspectives of the development of new strategies in this field.

Carlos Pinilla, regional dean of the College of Property, Mercantile and Movable Property Registrars of Spain, has been proud to sign this agreement because he considers that "this chair will allow us to jointly approach the study, the research, and the development of those legal dispositions and legal institutions that concern the registers of the property and mercantile, as well as the essential function that they perform for the sake of the legal security of the citizens ".

With the creation of this chair "we make effective one of the purposes outlined in our bylaws, which is to promote the study and development of the Registration Law and, in addition, we make a just and well deserved tribute to Rafael Rivas Torralba, a reference in our Region ", has added.

For his part, David Lorenzo, dean of the Faculty of Law of the UMU, said that this agreement strengthens the relationship that the institution and the college registrars have for years to collaborate in teaching, research and scientific exchange activities.

José Antonio Cobacho, director of the Department of Civil Law and promoter of the agreement, has highlighted the importance of the Registry Law for the University of Murcia;

subject of which an optional subject is taught in the degree of Law highly demanded by its students.

The ceremony has been closed by the rector, José Luján, who has been enormously grateful for the involvement of the registrar's association and for strengthening ties between both institutions.
