Monteagudo will host next weekend the XXXV cultural days of the Peña Huertana El Candil that will be made up of performances by ten groups huertanos and cuadrillas with the aim of promoting and publicizing the folklore and musical tradition of the region.

On Friday, June 28, from 9:00 pm, the performances of the children's groups of the Choir and Dance Association Santísima Cruz de Abanilla, San Basilio el Grande of the Peña La Parra, Grupo Delicias de la Peña Huertana will take place. Palmera-Melón, folk group San Francisco de Asis de la Peña The botijo ​​and group of choirs and dances Francisco Salzillo de Santomera.

The event will be closed by La Huerta, La Naranja.

On Saturday, June 29, the 1st Veranda Cuadrilla of the district will be held, which will include the Animeros de Cehegín, the Cuadrilla and Auroros de Santomera, the Cuadrilla de las Torres de Cotillas and the Cuadilla de la Peña El Candil.

All of them will perform a mass sung at 8 pm in the parish church of Monteagudo, a parade from 8:45 pm and a performance at the headquarters of the Peña El Candil at 9.45 pm.

Attendees can enjoy a tasting of donuts and chocolate and, in addition, the Peña Huertana El Candil will offer different typical dishes from 8 pm to midnight.
