Talent, generator of employment and wealth (21/06/2019)

The Conference 'Talent, strategic value of companies', organized by the International Chair Women, Business and Sports of the Catholic University of Murcia, has gathered at the Monastery of Los Jerónimos entrepreneurs, politicians, heads of the university and different experts to address the importance of fostering talent for both companies and society.

In the act they have intervened, José Luis Mendoza, president of the UCAM;

Fátima Báñez, former Minister of Employment and Social Security;

María Jesús Bonilla, director of the chair;

Juan Pablo Lázaro, vice president of CEOE (Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations);

and Clemente González, president of IFEMA (Fair and Exhibition Center in Madrid).

The Catholic University encourages talent with respect to its research and administration staff, and encourages it among its students, who are above the Spanish average in entrepreneurship.

José Luis Mendoza has indicated, among other things, that it is necessary to "promote conciliation so that women can continue to enter the labor market."

And he stressed that it is very important that the University "is formed business leaders who have a true spirit of service and promote talent, from the institutions should encourage policies that help decent work, supporting the private initiative."

For her part, Fátima Báñez stressed that the most appropriate way to take care of talent is through employment, since "it is the best tool to promote equality and guarantee the welfare state".

The former Minister of Employment and Social Security has marked the next challenges facing employment that are: "Globalization, digitalization and demography."

In addition, he pointed out that immigration is of great importance, "because it is an element of competitiveness, but for that it must be orderly, legal and in coordination with the countries of origin".

With almost seven years of experience at the head of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, Báñez has warned that we must take advantage of "the great power of attraction that Spain has for talent" because "for every entrepreneur who has arrived in our country, They have created three jobs. "
