The University of Murcia has carried out the first business tourism activity organized by the COIE, with the aim of strengthening ties between companies and the university community.
To that end, more than twenty people among students of Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, ADE, French Studies, Mathematics, Labor Relations and Human Resources and Translation and Interpreting;
professors, technicians of the COIE and members of the management team of the UMU have visited two great Murcian companies to know first hand, their production processes, know-how and facilities.
The first to open its doors to the university community was Francisco Aragón, SA one of the largest suppliers of Mercadona, which manufactures the full range of insecticides, scented candles, air fresheners and cleaners under the name Green Forest.
At midmorning, it was the turn of the molinense Plásticos Romero, SA with an average turnover of 70 million euros and present in more than 20 countries, it is one of the national references in relation to integral packaging solutions.
The visits began with corporate presentations by the heads of Human Resources and Marketing of the aforementioned companies, in which they showed both the trajectory, benchmarking and future strategies that they pursue for the coming years.
Afterwards, the participants were able to learn about the production processes and infrastructures of these business giants in the Region of Murcia.
After the success and interest shown by these visits in the university community, the COIE will continue from September with the Business Tourism project, with the objective that the largest number of students, graduates and professors of the UMU know the industrial fabric of the Region of Murcia.
