The municipality has four new pergolas that give shade to playgrounds.

The Park and Gardens Service, under the Department of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development, directed by José Guillén, has completed the installation work of shading in the playgrounds of Jorge Manrique Street in El Infante, Calle Músico Francisco Cebrián, in El Ranero and Calle Iniestas and Paseo de los Regulares de Melilla (Santiago and Zaraíche)

Thus, these areas are added to those currently being placed in Paseo Santa Águeda (Vistalegre), Plaza del Sagrado Corazón (Casillas) and Calle Pintor Molina Sánchez (El Esparragal).

Guillén explained that "since 2015 a total of 32 pergolas have been installed in neighborhoods and districts such as El Palmar, El Raal, El Ranero, Era Alta,

Espinardo, Joven Futura, Los Garres, Gea and Truyols, Infante, La Flota, La Ñora, La Raya, Lobosillo, San Andrés, San Antón, San Miguel, Santa Catalina, Santa Cruz, Santa María de Gracia, Santiago and Zaraíche, Valladolises , Vistalegre and Zeneta.

In addition, each and every one of the new children's play areas that are projected are designed with previous shadow study that guarantees, at least, 50% of space protected from the sun's rays on its entire surface.
