Social Rights and Manos Unidas promote education in values ​​through storytelling (27/05/2019)

The councilor in functions of Social Rights and Development Cooperation of the City of Murcia, Conchita Ruiz, and the delegate in Murcia of Manos Unidas, María Teresa Romero, presented this morning the book "Cuenta Cuentos con valores (ODS) La Generosidad" , within the solidarity project of Manos Unidas, with which they attended the call for grants of 2018 to education and awareness projects.

The project is materialized in a volume entitled 'La Generosidad' that contains three stories of education in values ​​aimed at students aged 6 to 8 years in the schools of the municipality of Murcia.

Their titles are "La Caja de los Botones", "El patio de mi cole" and "El arco de Sara".

Conchita Ruiz took advantage of the presentation to put in value "the admirable work done by non-governmental organizations for development because their collaboration is essential for help and cooperation to reach where public administrations alone could not reach."

The Manos Unidas project has a total cost of € 4,832, of which € 1,337 will be financed from the public call for grants from the Department.

The project is complemented by fun activities that will take place in the classes, which favors the transmission in their homes of what has been learned and learned in the school about the unjust realities that people in developing countries are living.

Activities that help to enhance the ability to reflect on the difficulty of being different, recognize their own identity and value their abilities, build a sense of belonging in different social and cultural contexts, promote respect, solidarity, commitment, etc.

with others, as well as working on values ​​education to generate a change of attitudes that favors peace, solidarity and justice.

850 copies have been published, bound in cardboard and partially financed by the City of Murcia, which will be delivered as the final culmination of the awareness campaign to the participating schools that have been chosen in the draw.
