The UMU and the International University of Florida sign a general collaboration protocol (17/05/2019)

The University of Murcia and the International University of Florida (FIU) have signed on Friday a general protocol of collaboration that has taken place in the office of the rector.

Meredith Newman and Lukas Danner, vice president and director of International Affairs of the FIU, respectively, have held a meeting with the rector of the UMU, José Luján, the rector of Internationalization, María Senena Corbalán, and with representatives of the Faculties of Medicine and Biology to discuss concrete collaborative actions in the fields of teaching and research.

The firm is the result of the extensive work carried out by Robert Sackstein, Dean Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine of the International University of Florida and recently appointed Doctor Honoris Causa by the UMU;

and José María Moraleda, professor of the Faculty of Medicine and head of the Cell Therapy Unit of the Virgen de la Arrixaca University Hospital.

This visit is part of the expansion plan of international collaborations being carried out by the University of Murcia.

With more than 52,000 students, 3,300 teachers and 180,000 graduates, the FIU is the second largest university in South Florida, and the seventh largest in the US.

Both the rector and the rector of Internationalization of the UMU have shown their gratitude to the International University of Florida for this visit and have expressed their desire that this relationship be strengthened over time.
