New technologies are installed in the Plaza Circular this weekend on the occasion of Internet Day (16/05/2019)

Drone piloting, artificial intelligence, 3D glasses, online videogames and play parties are some of the proposals that can be enjoyed by those who come to this 'zero zone' of new technologies where, in addition, interesting lectures on various aspects related to with Internet

The Department of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development, in collaboration with the University of Murcia, the College of Computer Engineers, the College of Technical Engineers in Computing, the General Directorate of Information Technology of the CARM, the UCAM, Talent Stem and Foundation Integra, has organized a complete and innovative program of activities to celebrate Internet Day.

The Plaza Circular will once again become the epicenter of new technologies in the city.

The Murcians who come to the place will find four different areas to participate.

In zone 1 you will discover 'Pasapalabra' and a 'Scape room', while area 2 is reserved for:

- Digital art

- Exhibition and robotics workshops

- Messing with Arduino

- Internet security

- 3D glasses: immerse yourself in virtual reality

- PC construction simulation games

- Smart Cities

- Practical Machine Learning

- Parental control

In zone 4 you can enjoy with:

- Exhibition and robotics workshops

- Immersion in virtual reality

- Programming for children

- Robotics and Arduino: program your robot and make it evolve

- Interact with an artificial intelligence: Lobot chatbot

- Pilot your drone

Murcia will be able to participate in this initiative next Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

'The offer of activities prepared responds to our interest that there are interesting proposals for all ages.

Our goal was to organize an event for the whole family and so we have planned workshops and animations to learn about Smart Cities and raise awareness about the digital divide and the responsible use of new technologies, "explained Guillen.

Along with the playful aspect, the Internet Day in Murcia will also include lectures given in an open classroom -in area 3- which will deal with a wide range of topics.

From the internet of things, to the proper use of social networks, privacy protection or STEM talent.

These dissertations will take place on Saturday morning and afternoon and Sunday morning, and will be taught by experts in the field, both the UMU and UCAM and the City of Murcia.

The activities will conclude on Sunday at 2:00 pm, with the award of the City of Murcia Award - Internet Day that will be delivered to the best SmartCity idea, which contributes to the development of smart cities on topics such as mobility, effective management of resources, etc.
