One thousand students and three hundred researchers from the UCAM have participated in European projects (08/05/2019)

The Office of International Projects of the UCAM celebrates the Day of Europe taking stock of the relationship of the UCAM with Europe with more than 100 approved projects, one thousand students and three hundred researchers involved in international projects in the last five years.

"Participate in the values ​​and principles of the European Union and seek the internationalization of our researchers, share knowledge and contribute to the construction of a Europe where individuals are the cornerstone of our society", with these words has defined Estrella Núñez, vice-rector of Research of the UCAM, the objectives that move the University to participate in European projects.

Since its inception, the International Projects Office (OPRI) more than one thousand three hundred people from the university environment have participated with the purpose of promoting unity, equality and scientific development in the European continent.

Contributing to the improvement of social welfare in any territory has been the raison d'être of this university, and with it, the transfer of knowledge aimed at solving the technological and socioeconomic challenges that foster university-company collaboration.

"OPRI is an instrument at the service of the university community, its researchers and its students, a way of building Europe through the expansion of the culture of its essential values ​​and the work of our researchers," said A. Pablo Cano, director of the International Projects Office.

Since OPRI began its activity in 2014, they have helped to create contact networks with universities and research centers in 38 countries, which are allowing international synergy between them.

This strategy of internationalization of the UCAM already has more than three hundred researchers involved in European projects that have allowed the Catholic University to manage funds for more than three million euros from prestigious calls such as Horizon2020, LIFE, Marie Curie, COST, Social Funds Europeans (FSE), Framework Program 7 (FP7), Europe for Citizens, Creative Europe, EEA Grant (Island, Liechtenstein, Norway Grant), Erasmus + Capacity Building, Erasmus + Sport, Erasmus + KA1, Erasmus + KA2, Erasmus + KA3 and Eurodyssey.
