Two schools of the municipality participate in a European project to develop educational methodology that promotes gender equality (07/05/2019)

Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, received this morning the participants in the project 'Colorful Children - Promote gender equality at preschool education level' which is made up of teachers and school directors of the cities of Ravenna (Italy), Torres Vedras (Portugal), Härryda (Sweden), and Murcia schools Federico de Arce and Luis Costa.

Murcia, together with these three European cities, thus becomes a 'pilot city' of this initiative whose objectives are to develop a learning methodology to promote gender equality aimed at children's education (3-6 years), train education teachers children's education on gender equality issues to be able to educate children from their childhood, and encourage critical thinking related to gender equality among children.

This project, which will be developed in CEIP schools Luis Costa and Federico de Arce, will run until August 2021 and does not entail any cost for the City Council.

Thus, as a result of the project, a mobile application with educational games will be developed to develop during the first year of early childhood education, didactic material and mini books, to be developed during the second school year and learning methodology in gender equality, to be developed throughout the project and exclusively in the third school year
