The University of Murcia has received a delegation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), one of the most prestigious universities in China.
During their visit to the institution, they held a meeting with representatives of the centers, in addition to being received by the rector, José Luján.
This visit takes place within the framework of various negotiations to develop joint collaborations between the UMU and SJTU emerged during the institutional visit that a UMU delegation, led by the rector, made to China last October.
The result of that visit was the recent signing of a mobility agreement for students between the Faculty of Economics and Business and Antai College of Business of the SJTU.
Given the common interests, the objective pursued is to discuss, among others, the possibilities of creating a center for studies of Chinese language and culture at the UMU, as well as a center for Hispanic studies at SJTU;
organize a 'Week of Chinese culture' and 'Week of Spanish culture' 'in each university;
as well as creating a multidisciplinary research center where different areas can converge.
