The Secretary of State of the Vatican receives the president of the UCAM in a private audience (04/05/2019)

A delegation from the UCAM, headed by its president, José Luis Mendoza, together with the president of the Academy of Life and the great chancellor of the John Paul II Institute, Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia, has shown to his eminence Cardinal Parolin the situation in which are the different projects being carried out by the Catholic University of Murcia in collaboration with the Holy See, especially those destined for the worldwide dissemination of the Gospel of the Family of Pope Francis, and that last September they received the special blessing of His Holiness.

Monsignor Parolin expressed his satisfaction with the work UCAM is doing so far through the different initiatives, many of which, such as the International Family Observatory, academic training in the poorest countries or the digital library Amoris Laetitia they are already a settled reality.

In addition, as a novelty, the Catholic University of Murcia has presented a training plan together with the YNCIDE Foundation to promote family entrepreneurship and employment in the most disadvantaged countries.

More specifically, the project, in communion with the pontifical doctrine that seeks to protect the family in an integral way, seeks to give the necessary tools to the institution so that it becomes an instrument to alleviate the situation of poverty that exists in many countries, making the family business an essential resource for the development of these areas.

The two places chosen to start this project are Kenya and Benin.

It should be remembered that in these countries the Catholic University is already working through the Pontifical John Paul II Institute in formation both ecclesiastical and civil.

In fact, the projects launched have already encompassed very different realities: in addition to those mentioned in Africa, the collaboration with the Pontifical John Paul II Institute covers India from countries on the American continent such as Argentina, Chile or Mexico.

Finally, in collaboration with the Academy of Life, the foundations have been laid for a project that can deepen the ethical aspects that should accompany the development of the technique, through a new international foundation on Ethics and Technology.
