The Governing Board has given its approval to the project and specifications to carry out the restoration work of the monument to the Count of Floridablanca, a sculpture by Santiago Baglietto from 1848, located in the garden of the same name.
This intervention contemplates the complete restoration of the monument to the Count of Floridablanca, both outside and inside and the base, the pedestal and the column shaft.
The winning company must have a team of professional restaurateurs and their work will be supervised by the municipal archaeologist and technicians of the General Directorate of Cultural Assets, as it acts within a Cultural Interest Asset.
Thus, among the actions to be carried out is an integral cleaning of the whole by eliminating added coatings, the extraction of the salt efflorescence accumulated in the stone and the structural consolidation giving stability to the whole of the sculpture.
This project has been drafted after carrying out an in-depth study in order to guarantee its correct conservation and stability in the future.
The City Council will invest in these works, which will have to be executed within a maximum period of three months, 67,096 euros.
