The ODSesiones project organizes talks on alcohol and tobacco and its effects on health on Thursday (10/04/2019)

The 17ODSesiones project of the University of Murcia continues the week of Health and Wellbeing with a morning of talks dedicated to sexual health and the effects of alcohol and tobacco on health.

The day starts with a healthy and solidary breakfast outside the Faculty of Medicine, in which users of the APP Ciclogreen can participate.

In the afternoon the artist Jesús Galiana will talk about his fight against Parkinson's disease and how it has affected his career as a painter.

The programmed activities are the following:

08: 30-10: 30 h.

Solidarity and healthy breakfast

Users of the app Ciclogreen and members of the university community who arrive by bike, walking or rollerblading will be able to enjoy this breakfast outside the Faculty of Medicine organized by UMU en Bici and the Healthy University Office REUS-UMU.

10: 30-11: 00 h.

Cannabis: the dose and age make the poison

María Trinidad Herrero, Professor at the University of Murcia and director of the University Research Institute on Aging will give this talk in the auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine.

11: 15-12: 00 h.

Myths and Facts about Alcohol.

If you consume alcohol, you are interested.

Miguel Felipe Sánchez Sauco, environmental nurse of the Pediatric Environmental Health Unit, will give this talk in the auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine.

12: 15-12: 45 How does tobacco control promote health and sustainable development?

Adelaida Lozano, professor at the University of Murcia, will give this talk in the auditorium of the University of Murcia.

13: 00-13: 30 h.

Sexual health and infection prevention

María Antonia Belmonte Gómez of the health promotion and education service will give this talk in the auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine.

19: 30-21: 00 h.

The end of the tunnel

The painter Jesús Galiana tells his fight against Parkinson's disease in the University Museum.

ODSesiones is the project that the University of Murcia is developing to promote and raise awareness of the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations.

Until April 2021, the University will dedicate one month to each of these objectives with outreach, play, training and solidarity activities.
