Serrano will implement "to the letter" the social clauses in the contracts of the City Council to encourage the social economy (07/04/2019)

The socialist candidate, who has met with the president of Ucomur and Ucoerm, declares that "we must reward companies that do their job well" and proposes to reinforce, through this model, research, new technologies and renewable energies for considering emerging

The socialist candidate for the Mayor of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano, has met with the president of the Union of Cooperatives of associated work of the Region of Murcia (Ucomur) and the Union of Cooperatives of Education of Region of Murcia (Ucoerm) , Juan Antonio Pedreño, to present the challenges of the Department of Employment that wants to launch.

"The effort to favor the creation of jobs to achieve a more egalitarian and just society leads us to design a package of measures, all aimed at the lack of employment ceases to be one of the main concerns of our society," says Serrano, who has insisted on a bet already announced as the implementation of social clauses.

"We must reward companies that do their job well while favoring those who have fewer resources and opportunities, they must be fulfilled by law for a long time and the PSOE from the Mayor of Murcia will do so to the letter".

The candidate has been interested in Ucomur's initiative to establish equality plans in all its companies.

"The president of the Union of Cooperatives, who has given us a fabulous fact and is that in this model, 50% of workers are women, has said that they prioritize the value of the person and in that inclination we agree absolutely. type of company is very attractive, since any activity can be done from a cooperative, either home help, integration of people with disabilities or street vending or tourism.

Also, Serrano proposes strengthening through the field of social economy the research sector, new technologies and renewable energy to be considered emerging.

"What's more, we have to give the social economy the prominence it deserves with a pact for excellence."

Among the measures presented to representatives of cooperatives, is the commitment to quality industrial land and well connected, which is one of the objectives, "because being all connected, if we have delimited spaces for the installation of companies will help us also to have a more territorially balanced municipality, and, when we talk about connection, it is because the challenge is to have an efficient, punctual public network, at a reasonable price and with sufficient frequencies so that workers do not have to use the private vehicle " .

Likewise, it has put in value the work of the Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Murcia to promote the Pact for Employment, providing aid to cooperativists and freelancers.

"This is the way and we will continue in it not only betting on social clauses, but also assuring aid to cooperatives and other social economy freelancers, with whom we will maintain the agreement, and including Ucomur as a member of the Social Council of Murcia"

Ucomur brings together 20,000 members in cooperatives and more than 1,500 companies operating in the Region of Murcia, while Ucoerm represents the education sector with more than 3,000 teaching and non-teaching professionals and around 33,000 students enrolled.
