The regional leaders of UGT and CCOO urge the socialist candidate to the City of Murcia to prioritize employment and social policies in their program Today the regional general secretaries of UGT and CCOO, Antonio Jiménez, and Santiago Navarro, have (29/03/2019)

This morning the general secretaries of UGT and CCOO in the region, Antonio Jiménez and Santiago Navarro, met with the PSRM-PSOE candidate for the City Hall of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano, at the PSRM-PSOE regional headquarters.

In this meeting have discussed topics of great interest such as employment, urban planning, transport and infrastructure and social policies, among other issues.

Employment has been the subject where the General Secretary of the UGT, Antonio Jiménez, has emphasized the most, asking José Antonio Serrano to develop policies to reinforce services for the most disadvantaged groups, such as women, young people and people over 45, promoting and modernizing the municipal guidance services since they have a determining role for the labor and social inclusion of these people.

Antonio Jiménez has taken advantage of this meeting to urge the socialist candidate for mayor of Murcia to increase investments in services for dependents, groups at risk of social exclusion and children under zero to three years.

The general secretary of UGT has also transferred to José Antonio Serrano the need to prioritize attention in programs of local employment to older workers, which include formulas for employment and training for this group that has undoubtedly been severely punished by unemployment long-lasting.

In issues of urban planning, transport and infrastructure, the Ugandan leader has asked Serrano to include in its political program the improvement of territorial cohesion, with special attention to the arrival of the underground AVE, the rehabilitation and revitalization of the southern neighborhoods of the city ​​and the optimal management of the municipal industrial land, in addition to improving the connections with the districts in public transport.

For his part, José Antonio Serrano highlighted the coincidence in the approaches with UGT, and has stated his intention to include social clauses in the specifications of public procurement, among other measures.

Serrano has highly appreciated the meeting today and the proposals received, which he said will take good account of his approach to policy measures.
