Parades, exhibitions and workshops will turn the city's emblematic spaces into a fashion platform (28/03/2019)

The Councilors for Trade and Institutional Relations and Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Maruja Pelegrín and Jesús Pacheco, respectively, together with Natalia Torres and Marta Abellán, responsible for Lalumier, presented this morning the fashion show 'Murcia Pasarela Mediterránea' , whose second edition will be held from April 3 to 13.

The emblematic areas of the municipality, such as the Circus Theater, Alfonso X El Sabio Avenue, Glorieta and the Molinos del Río, will host activities, including conferences, workshops, exhibitions, pop-up stores and parades.

All acts will be free and open access.

"The objective of this fashion week is to strengthen the position of Murcia among cities that are committed to design and, at the same time, promote professional networks that allow disseminating and promoting the talent of new creators and established authors", Pacheco sentence.

The first edition of this Mediterranean Pasarela took place in April of last year, under the brand 'Murcia Fashion Show', around which numerous fashion meetings were held, including round tables or parades in the Molinos del Río and the Museum of Fine Arts.

"After that great welcome from Murcia, this year we can enjoy a more ambitious event, with the presentation of the latest collections of clothing and accessories for the autumn-winter season," said Maruja Pelegrin.

Victorio & Lucchino, main course

This great fashion event will begin next Wednesday, day 3, with a parade of Victorio & Lucchino in Alfonso X El Sabio, where from 19:30 he will present his latest collection, "The color that gives life".

Then, it will be the moment of the 'Kissing', the event after the parade to get to know the designer more closely, with the party of the fashion platform from Murcia with flamenco theme -'Murcia y Olé'- in the Archaeological Museum.

On Saturday and Sunday all the activity will be concentrated in the Sala Caballerizas of Los Molinos del Río, where lectures, workshops and the pop-up Store will be held, a space to buy and meet products, designers, businesses and sponsors.

On Sunday, at 1 pm, the terrace of Los Molinos del Río will host the fashion show of the latest collection by designer María Lafuente, internationally known for her contribution to sustainable fashion.

The Mediterranean Catwalk will give the opportunity to witness in the Circus Theater parades of collections of established designers, such as Fernando Aliaga, Alicia Nicolás by Laazo 80, Cayetana Ferrer, Gloriaca and Abel Esga, and emerging artists, Gemma Pujalte, Lorena Sánchez, Rocai and Akhesa & Godiva

Subsequently, the 'Kissing' of emerging designers will take place and the 21 hours of the consecrated ones in the street next to the theater, in the Long Cross of San Roque.

Finally, to complete this fashion event will participate the photographer Valladolid Miguel Vallinas with the exhibition 'Ceci N'est Pas' to be installed in the Plaza de la Glorieta of Spain, a work that focuses on the modified portrait of the human being and that can be enjoyed until April 21.
