López Miras: "The regional government reaches an agreement with ADIF to continue burying the train tracks in Murcia" (27/03/2019)

The president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, announced today that the regional government has reached an agreement with ADIF "to continue burying the train tracks in Murcia."

This was decided in the course of the meeting of the Board of Directors of Murcia High Speed, where the text of the addendum has been agreed on, which allows awarding the burial works of the Carmen, Barriomar and Nonduermas stations, and guaranteeing the works through a endorsed, approved and included in the Community Budget Law for a value of 134 million euros, and its budget contribution year after year.

"It was as simple as including a small modification to save the legal obstacle that prevented the Autonomous Community from approving the agreement to continue burying the train tracks in Murcia," said the president, who explained that "this shows what we have always affirmed, that the undergrounding of the roads passing through the city of Murcia is a priority for the regional government and that there was no financial problem to continue with the works ".

With this solution, therefore, it is not necessary to modify the Regional Finance Law and, once the Autonomous Community receives the official documentation, the agreement will be approved in an extraordinary Government Council, in less than 48 hours.

President López Miras thanked "the work and goodwill of the ADIF technicians who have tirelessly negotiated with the technicians of the Community to reach this agreement, in the face of the media noise caused by those who do not have proposals for citizens."
