The IV Women's Race beats record with 3,800 participants (25/03/2019)

Murcia will host next Sunday the celebration of the IV Women's Race in which 3,800 women will participate.

This test was presented this morning by the Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello;

Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz;

Pruden Guerrero, vice president of the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia;

Alicia Barquero, general director of Women and Equality of Opportunities of the CARM;

and representatives of Flamenco Rosa, women of the association MuchoXVivir of the Spanish Association against Cancer.

The route will be of 5 kilometers that can be done walking or running in a maximum time of 1 hour and 45 minutes.

The exit will be located in the Plaza de la Cruz Roja.

With registration, all women are entitled to a commemorative shirt, dorsal-chip and broker's bag, which will be delivered on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 March at the Thader shopping center.

It will be essential to present the DNI or photocopy for the withdrawal of the 'pack'.

There will be trophies for the first three classified of the general, existing also special prizes for the most veteran woman, the sport center or association more numerous, the most numerous company and the most numerous educational center (students, teachers and maintenance personnel).

There will also be numerous gifts from the sponsors for all the participants.

After the start, the race will take Ronda Ronda de Garay, to cross the river by the bridge in front of the Reina Sofia Hospital.

The participants will continue along Avenida Infante Juan Manuel until the intersection with Ronda Sur, where they will make a 180º turn to return in the opposite direction to Plaza de los Voluntarios and Avenida Río Segura.

Once again the river will cross, in this case by the Martínez Caballero footbridge, to take the left by the Glorieta de España, follow Martínez Tornel and enter Gran Vía. The participants will arrive at the Plaza Fuensanta, where they will turn 180º and follow to Martinez Tornel, Glorieta de España, Lieutenant Flomesta and Plaza de la Cruz Roja, where the finish line will be.

In this way, at no time will the first runners and the last runners find themselves in the march.

Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, has indicated that "events like this serve to vindicate the role of women's sport and full equality."

For its part, the Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, explained that "women every day has a greater presence in sports and popular races and is proud that Murcia has a career in which women can exclusively participate "
