The academic degrees of the University of Murcia may be requested electronically (15/03/2019)

The Governing Council of the University of Murcia has approved this Friday that academic degrees can be requested electronically.

The computer application, which will be accessible through the UMU website, www.um.es, will be available within a maximum period of one month.

In terms of infrastructure, it has been reported the construction of two new ships that will be located behind the Pleiades building, which will cost 275,000 euros and which, predictably, will be completed in 2019. In addition, a standard has been approved that will optimize the use of spaces destined for research.

On the other hand, it has been reported that the University of Murcia has applied for the HRS4R accreditation of Excellence in Human Resources in Research, which already has 443 institutions, 78 of them Spanish and among which there are 23 universities.

This seal is a tool implemented at the community level that supports universities and research institutions in the application of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the hiring of Researchers, with the aim of developing a European labor market for researchers. .

This petition highlights the commitment of the University of Murcia to promote and improve recruitment, working conditions and research career, thus contributing to the development of the European Research Area.

As a result of this request, the University of Murcia is working on the construction of the English version of its website, as well as the publication of a quarterly newsletter HRS4R, in order to inform the university community about the status of the project .

Also, a service will be created to inform researchers of all the possibilities that exist for the development of their research career, both within and outside the academic environment.

In addition, the publication in the Official State Gazette of the Statute of Researching Personnel in Training has been reported, which regulates the working conditions of predoctoral researchers.

In another order of things, the Governing Council has approved a procedure that aims to resolve in a more agile the situations of teacher downs.

This procedure will be applied until the end of this academic year and will be evaluated with a view to its final implementation from the 2019-20 academic year.

Finally, the academic qualification requirements have been clarified and adjusted to the European Higher Education Area in order to be able to access associate professor positions and employment exchanges.
