More than 1,000 students will go through SICARM, which will take place until Sunday in the Plaza Circular (12/03/2019)

In total there will be 9 workshops, open in the afternoon for all citizens, on the responsible use of the Internet, smart home, 3D printing or creation of digital sounds, among others

The Annual Forum of the Information Society of the Region of Murcia aims to publicize the benefits of the incorporation of new technologies in the day to day of citizens

The Councilor for Modernization of Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén, and the councilor for Pedanías, Participación y Descentralización, Marco Antonio Fernández, together with the General Director of Information Technology, Heritage and Telecommunications of the Autonomous Community, Juan José Almela, visited this tomorrow the SICARM workshops on new technologies, which started yesterday and will take place until Sunday.

In total there will be 9 workshops on the responsible use of the Internet, smart home, 3D printing or creation of digital sounds, among others.

By this edition, more than 1,000 students are going to pass.

"The residents of Murcia can discover everything about new technologies and the latest developments in the sectors of information technology and telecommunications, it is an opportunity to learn as a family and enjoy the open air of the different workshops," said José Guillén.

The SICARM 2019 is organized by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, through the General Directorate of Information Technology and the Integra Foundation, and in which the City of Murcia collaborates, through its Smart City office, which part of the Department of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development.

This technological demonstration event will take place from March 11 to 17 in the Plaza Circular.

The workshop schedule is from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (reserved for schools and other groups) and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for all interested parties.

On Saturdays and Sundays, the hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

"It's a good opportunity to learn as a family and enjoy the different workshops outdoors." In addition to experimenting with new technologies, citizens can learn functions that can be applied in their day-to-day or discover new advances "José Guillén highlighted.

In this way, Murcia and Blanca (where this event will also take place from March 21 to 24) will host this program that seeks to contribute to the effective incorporation of the Region of Murcia into the Information Society, making known the new existing ICT technologies.

Initiatives and available electronic services that are provided by regional institutions are also disseminated.

These workshops are aimed at the general public, children, youth and families, wanting to attract especially the elderly.
