'Murcia es Musical' will offer six major productions of the moment until December (12/03/2019)

'Murcia es Musical' will bring to the Teatro Romea and the auditorium Víctor Villegas during the coming months some of the great productions of the moment.

Thanks to the collaboration between the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts of the Region of Murcia (ICA), the Department of Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs and the Cajamurcia Foundation, as well as the coordination of Riga Cultural Activities as a local producer, Murcia will host up to six musicals.

'Murcia es Musical' will be held until December on the stages of the Víctor Villegas Auditorium and the Romea Theater in Murcia with shows such as Carmina Burana, The Addams Family, Annie, Jekyll & Hyde and West Side Story, these last three scheduled within the activities that will be developed in the Semana Grande festival, organized by the Cajamurcia Foundation.

In addition, the youngest will be able to enjoy the Aladín family musical show, next December, on the occasion of the Christmas Cajamurcia Foundation cycle.

La Fura del Baus presents a Carmina Burana of 'strong sensations'

After traveling through three continents and being seen by more than 160,000 spectators, Carmina Burana, from La Fura del Baus, arrives in Murcia with a show that unites the powerful music of Carl Off with the universe of La Fura.

A show with live music and stunning scenes.

On the stage a cylinder eight meters in diameter literally envelops the musicians, while the images projected on it illustrate the work from beginning to end: a giant moon, the thaw, a floral ecstasy, a live harvest, the taverns, singers hanging from cranes and submerged in wine, water and fire ...

The Addams Family, a Broadway musical comedy

With this musical you will be able to enjoy an ominous, fateful and hilarious night, at the Addams' house, where the most hidden secrets will be revealed, relationships, love affairs and friendships will be examined and the Addams Family as a whole, including ancestors, will have to face to the only and terrible thing that he has managed to avoid for generations: change.

The show, which brings the characters created by the illustrator Charles Addams to the theater tables, is directed by Esteve Ferrer and produced by LetsGo Company.

Annie, a musical designed for family enjoyment

Annie debuted on Broadway in 1977, the success was immediate with 2,400 performances, being the musical most represented in the Neil Simon Theater.

The work has known several replacements in different countries, even in Spain it was released in 1981, in 2000 and in 2010, showing that it is a beloved musical in our country.

Now, and after five successful seasons on the Madrid billboard, the spectacular Broadway production arrives in Murcia.

With unforgettable melodies such as Tomorrow, an authentic song of optimism, a careful and effective scenography and lighting that will transport the viewer to the New York of the 30s.

The musical version of Jekyll & Hyde

Jekyll & Hyde is one of the great Broadway musicals based on the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, Strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, published in 1886. An extraordinary musical of intrigue that delves into the primary duality of man, understood as a struggle between reason and instinct, between good and evil that inhabits each of us.

A show that has managed to create the Victorian atmosphere of the most exciting and dark London, with an amazing scenery built in an effective way and without losing the theatricality that this great story deserves.

West Side Story, the original Broadway classic

From the first note to the last breath, West Side Story is one of the most important and representative musicals of universal theater.

The score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim is unanimously recognized as one of the best in the history of musicals, the text of Arthur Laurens continues to be as moving and current as the first day and the original choreographies of Jerome Robbins occupy a place of honor in the legend of contemporary dance.

From his hand, the greatest love story takes the streets of Broadway to become one of the milestones of musical theater of all time.

In West Side Story Arthur Laurens transports Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to New York City, where two young lovers are caught up in the confrontation between two street gangs, the American Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks.

His struggle to survive in an environment of hatred, violence and prejudice gives shape to one of the most emotional, heartbreaking, beautiful and relevant stories of musical theater.

Aladín, a show to enjoy with the family

Aladin, a great musical is the perfect combination between the magic of the story and the spectacular musical with the charm of the adventures of The Arabian Nights, with its luxurious palaces and bustling bazaars ... All impregnated and invaded by that oriental scent of fairy tale .

A show with the purest musical language that will surprise the audience with unexpected numbers.

Fights of swords, acrobatics and dances will come together in this show directed and produced by José Tomás Cháfer.
