The City Council will install 2,400 ballot boxes in the 600 polling stations for the April and May elections (08/03/2019)

To this end, the Government Board approved both tenders in its last two sessions.

Among the functions assigned to the Statistics and Notifications Service, under the Department of Commerce and Institutional Relations, headed by Maruja Pelegrín, are all tasks related to the preparation and implementation of schools and polling stations, including the obligation to proceed to the printing and distribution of the electoral ballots of each candidacy that attends the municipal elections, in this case, which will be held on May 26, 2019.

The peculiarity of the electoral process means that the number of candidates that will participate in these elections as well as their names and the candidates proposed by each will not be known until approximately April 28, 2019.

As specified in the list of conditions approved today by the Governing Board, once the final electoral census has been published, the Statistics Service will notify the successful bidder of the final number of ballots to be printed per application, always respecting the maximum and minimum referrals. established.

The model approved by the State in compliance with the Organic Law of General Electoral Regime, the ballots will be recycled white paper and identical in what it does to the type of letter, size and intensity, in addition to having printed in the place enabled for the symbol the logo of each candidacy.

Before May 2, there will be a first delivery of approximately 15,000 ballots per candidacy, destined to the Electoral Census Office, for its distribution in the vote by mail.

The successful bidder must deliver all within a maximum period of five days from the day after the City Council's approval.

The contract cost foreseen in the specifications amounts to € 27,830 and the environmental clauses especially value the use of recycled paper or forest management certificates issued by an independent body.

On the other hand, the City Council will also take charge of other services, in this case, for the holding of the electoral processes of April 28 (general elections to the Congress and Senate) and May 26 (municipal, regional and European Parliament elections). ), according to the specifications approved by the Governing Board last week, including:

- Installation of metallic panels-supports for the placement of the electoral posters

- Assembly and distribution of the ballot boxes and electoral booths to be installed in each of the schools and metallic supports identifying tables and polling stations.

- Distribution in each electoral college of the ballots of each party or political group that attends.

- Withdrawal, cleaning, classification and deposit in the municipal facilities of the metallic supports-panels installed on public roads.

- Dismantling, removal, cleaning, classification and deposit of ballot boxes, voting booths and metallic supports identifying tables and polling stations installed in polling stations.

The contract, whose tender was approved last week, reaches:

· 600 polling stations

· 160 polling stations.

· 4 polls per table, in total 2,400 urns.

· 1,056 electoral advertising panels.

· 60 groupings of panels in districts, at the rate of 8 panels per group of 480 panels.

· 36 groupings of panels to be installed in neighborhoods, at a rate of 16 panels per group of 576 panels.

· 600 boxes to distribute with electoral material (ballots and envelopes) one for each table.

Or 1,200 boxes (two per table), if the electoral material is distributed in boxes of smaller dimensions.

The cost of the service of installation in the public road of posters and assembly of polling stations for the two elections of April and May will amount to 141,134 euros
