It is an initiative based on the prescription of physical activity for patients in cardiology consultations
The program 'Activa-Cardio' of the Ministry of Health will be present at the IV Sport Festival, a sporting event open to the participation of the whole family, promoted by the City of Murcia and the Union of Sports Federations of the Region of Murcia , with more than 70 activities adapted to the level of all the participants.
Specifically, tomorrow will be given (10:00 hours) a 'type session' of 'Activa-Cardio', in which part of the people who are carrying out the program at present, as well as other partners of the Asociación Murciana Pro -Rehabilitation Cardiac (Amurecar) and relatives.
This initiative is based on the prescription of physical exercise from cardiology consultations to patients who have suffered an acute coronary syndrome and who may benefit from exercise.
Its objective is to improve the quality of life and the prognosis of patients with heart disease (decrease in relapses and mortality).
The physical exercise program has been designed by graduates in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences specialized in health, sports doctors, family doctors and cardiologists.
'Activa-Cardio' is currently being held at the Palacio de los Deportes in Murcia, three days a week, in one-hour sessions.
Since its inception, last January, 21 people have joined the program.
Each of them performs physical activity for 24 weeks, reaching a total of 72 sessions.
