Columbares launches two projects to empower women (07/03/2019)

On the other, MIAS, a program to promote the integral health of women

Columbares Association puts the project on the march two novel projects.

One of them is "MULEM, free and empowered women", whose main objective whose main objective is to prevent and sensitize immigrant women at risk of social exclusion in terms of gender violence.

The aim is to sensitize women who participate in the program and indirectly to the rest of society, of the need and importance of equality and the scourge of gender violence so present today.

To this end, training workshops and individualized actions on equality, sexist violence and empowerment will be carried out, equipping them with knowledge and tools to promote their identity, autonomy and self-esteem and identify the signs of sexist violence.

MIAS (Women Reporters as Health Agents), is a project launched by FUNDADEPS, in collaboration with the Columbares Association and with the support of the Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare, which aims to promote a "Culture of Women's Health" "promoting healthy life habits and demystifying negative stereotypes about women.

The objective is to empower women through training workshops and experiential activities, offering them tools to be able to manage their health, with the aim of reducing the prevalence of the most common diseases in women.

It is about combating behaviors and life habits potentially harmful to the health of women that degrade their quality of life, which translates into greater mortality and disability, through training workshops and socio-cultural intergenerational activities and interventions between different collective.

This is to complement the programs and activities developed by the Women's Institute, training and giving prominence to women themselves in relation to the management of their own health and the creation of a network of women in health education with a perspective of genre.

The course, which will be held in the facilities of the Mayor's Office of Beniajan, is aimed at women over 25 years in unemployment, retired, early retirement or active but with medium-low resources
