The councilor of Cambiemos Murcia, Margarita Guerrero, has urged today the government team, the PP, to review the purple dot model because it establishes differences between the urban area of ​​the municipality and the districts, with what the City Council is acting "at two speeds", that is, with a double criterion of application.

Guerrero, who already transferred this request in the last Equality Council, explained that the current model distinguishes between the installation of points in the districts, where the management of the same is the responsibility of the municipal board and the Volunteer Office, and in the center, of those in charge of the Red Cross and Civil Protection of volunteer management.

"It is not about discriminating against anyone, or facing some entities with others, but quite the opposite: harmonizing the system to prevent the area from acting in one way or another," the mayor said, after recalling that the Consistory has approved a few weeks ago a new phase of placement of the points only in the urban area, charged to the funds received by the State Pact, for the upcoming Carnival and Spring, with a budget of 14,000 euros.

For the municipal training, it is "essential" a greater coordination and planning in relation to the training of the volunteers, because at this moment it is made under demand of the interested ones, and to pay special attention to the importance of the participation of the citizens as a fundamental element to take the initiative forward.

In this sense, Guerrero has shown his concern for the role that the government team gives to the Volunteer Office, as well as for the hours of installation of the points because "they have to cover the time zones in which they are most needed", and because the districts receive from the City Council all the necessary resources.

In this regard, he has requested that the necessary financial means be guaranteed so that the volunteers do not have to bear the expenses involved in their participation in violet points.
