The Antonio Campillo sculpture park is enriched with five new masterpieces on the Avenida Principe de Asturias (04/03/2019)

José Ballesta: "We wanted to surround them with a hundred roses, the favorite flower of the master, a man who dedicated his life to find beauty through shapes, whose work is a faithful portrait of the identity of Murcia."

The sculptures 'Playing on the Beach' and 'Teaching to Walk', as well as the three reliefs 'Recollection', 'The Wait' and 'Women on the Beach', complete this open-air museum.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Modernization of Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén, inaugurated the late extension of the Antonio Campillo sculpture park, an act that was attended by the vice president and secretary of the Antonio Campillo Foundation , Juan Pérez Ferra, and Antonio Pérez Ferra, respectively, entity that has donated the works for its exhibition in this central public space of the city of Murcia.

The sculptural park of the Prince of Asturias Avenue in Murcia is completed with three reliefs ('Recollection', 125 x 100 cm, 'The Wait' of 140 x 92 cm, and 'Women on the Beach' of 253 cm x 75 ) and two sculptures ('Playing on the Beach' measuring 85 x 28 x 73 cm and 'Teaching a Walk' of 32 x 32 x 86 cm).

"These works are in addition to those already existing in the sculptural park - and in other points of Murcia such as Avenida Libertad - and we wanted to surround them with one hundred roses, the favorite flower of the master;

a man who dedicated his life to finding beauty through forms, whose work is a faithful portrait of his generous and vital personality, "said the mayor, who claimed the" deep Murcian identity of this genius ", who was born in High in 1926 and died in 2009 at his house on the Camino del Badel.

The two sculptures, installed in the eastern part of the park, have been placed on new concrete bases covered with steel sheet, following the aesthetics of existing ones.

In addition, lighting has been incorporated in the same base, in such a way that the names of the same are backlit.

At the same time, the lighting of the existing ones has been improved.

The new reliefs, which are part of a complete series by Antonio Campillo, have been installed in the west of the park, where there were already four other reliefs, completing the same until the end.
